These pictures were made by gluing together tiny pieces of National Geographic Magazines by hand. look carefully to see if you can recognize some of the textures used! (A rock is not always a rock.) The printing process of NatGeo has changed over the years, so for me the sweet spot is a bit after they started to use color images, but before they made the paper thinner. The clay content in those middle years is such that you can scratch lines into the paper for added detail, and the paper is thick enough to handle easily.
