Math Portions of Standardized Tests & Trade Exams
Goals
My goals when tutoring for a standardized test are straightforward:
Discuss and demonstrate test-taking strategies
Review material specified for the test
Supply extra practice worksheets for any problem topics
Practice with real problems from the publishers of the test (if no "real” examples are available, we will work with the best available problem)
If you need help with a course that is not on this list, Ask!
The advantage of individualized tutoring is that we can skip practicing things you already know!
I do not guarantee a specific score. What I offer is a set of tools to help you as you study. The work you do on your own not only gives you practice, but highlights what we most need to work on together in session. The more time and effort you spend the better you can do!
I tutor for the math portion only of standardized tests. Please Check out my Resources Page to find a list of useful websites and books.
Learning that one CAN do math is almost as important as learning HOW TO do math.
